POLMUN is Poland’s oldest Model United Nations conference, organised for the first time in 1992, at the Marie Sklodowska-Curie High School in Gorzow Wielkopolski. Since then, twenty successful editions have been held, attracting a total of over 3000 guests, students from all over the world. In terms of tradition and prestige, POLMUN has no equal in the entirety of Poland.
We proudly continued this tradition by organising PolMUN Warsaw 2015 – the twenty-first edition of the conference, its first academic version, designed with university students in mind. It was the largest academic Model United Nations conference in Poland. Ever since, the academic edition of PolMUN have been organised in the capital of Poland.
What makes POLMUN Warsaw unique is not just the scope of the conference, but also the breadth of students’ engagement in its organisation. Our project, a grassroots initiative conceived at the Foreign Affairs Society (SKN Spraw Zagranicznych), is organised by undergraduates of the top Warsaw universities: Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and University of Warsaw. Additionally, throughout the last few years we received honorary patronages of the President of Poland, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mayor of Warsaw, the Foreign Affairs Committee of Senate, and many others.
POLMUN 2019 that will take place between the 6th and 8th of December is the fifth edition organized by the Foreign Affairs Society in Warsaw and shall attract over 150 participants from all over the world, emerging in the debate on the crisis of global governance.
